RESOLUTION NO. 11-06-06

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE GOVERNOR MILAGROSA T. TAN, TO UTILIZE A PORTION OF THE CALAMITY FUND FOR CY 2006 IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR MILLION (P4,000,000.00) PESOS FOR DONATION/ASSISTANCE TO CALAMITY VICTIMS IN BARANGAY GUINSAUGON, ST. BERNARD, SOUTHERN LEYTE

WHEREAS, last February 17, 2006 the whole region, the country and even the international communities were shocked due to a catastrophe that happened in Brgy. Guinsaugon, St. Bernard, Southern Leyte that several lives have been buried due to an instant landslide that covered the whole barangay;

WHEREAS, several people's organization, local government units, national government and other nations have extended material and financial supports to the victims of this catastrophe; and

WHEREAS, the Honorable Governor Milagrosa T. Tan in a letter dated February 21, 2006 which was indorsed by the Provincial Budget Officer and which authority bears the prior conformity by the Commission of Audit, requested the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for an authority to utilize the calamity fund for CY 2006 in the amount of FOUR MILLION (P4,000,000.00) Pesos for donation/assistance to calamity victims in St. Bernard, Southern Leyte.

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. ROGELIO T. CASURAO, duly seconded by the Body, be it –

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to authorize the Honorable Governor Milagrosa T. Tan, to utilize a portion of the calamity fund for CY 2006 in the amount of FOUR MILLION (P4,000,000.00) Pesos for donation/assistance to calamity victims in Barangay Guinsaugon, St. Bernard, Southern Leyte.

RESOLVE FINALLY, to direct the Secretariat to furnish certified copies of this Resolution to the Honorable Governor, the Provincial Budget Officer, the Provincial Treasurer, the Provincial Accountant and the Provincial Auditor, all of Catbalogan, Samar, for their information.
